A great time was had by all as the Red and Black Teams enjoyed spirited rivalry during Holy Trinity School's annual Fun Day festivities! Mr. Brown and his committee changed things up this year by inviting the 8th Grade to supervise the games. Wearing their tie-dyed, student-made, custom t-shirts, they did a great job leading the events! The Red Team, with the most wins in individual events, was declared the 2019 Fun Day Winner!
Our Grade 5 students, who have spent the past several months working through the D.A.R.E. drug awareness and prevention program, celebrated their graduation on Monday, May 20. The curriculum is taught by Officer John Yeager of the Falls Township Police Department. Thank you to Officer Yeager and Mrs. Smith for continuing this important program at Holy Trinity School.
Our students gave the performances of their young lifetimes in the roles of the Whos, Horton, Mayzie, Gertrude, Jungle Citizens, Fish, The Cat in the Hat and so many more Dr. Seuss friends! The students' dedication to learning their lines, songs, and dance moves really showed - their performances were phenomenal! Our stage crew was awesome - from the light and sound techs, set designers, costumers and makeup artists, to the publicity staff - everyone did their part to make the play a success! A great big thank you to all the adults involved in the production and, specifically, to Acting Naturally and the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. It was such a positive and memorable experience for our students!
For their final STEM CLASS of the year, grades K, 1, and 2 participated in The Poison Prevention Program through the Yardley ShopRite. Miss Samantha Schmell, ShopRite's registered dietitian, and Mr. Rick Nelson, their pharmacist - known as the "ShopRite Health and Wellness Team: - visited Holy Trinity on May 10th to teach students about poisons: where they can be found around the home and what to do in case of an emergency. The students really enjoyed the team's educational yet fun poison identification game!
Congratulations to our Grade 3 students who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 4th. It was a beautiful day for the children and their families!
Our annual “Race for Education” pledge drive fundraiser - along with its games, trivia, music, and ballpark picnic lunch - was enjoyed by the entire Holy Trinity community! This year's baseball-themed "Race" included several events leading up to the big day including jingle, door- decorating, and stamp-designing contests, with prizes for the winning classrooms. The big winner - 8th Grade - got to compete in a wiffleball game against the faculty. The day concluded with the students, staff, community guests, and parent volunteers walking as a “team” through the streets of Morrisville Borough, led by school administration and a police escort. This annual fundraising tradition is upheld by a team of very dedicated parents and teachers, led by Miss Christine Traub. The more than $10,000 raised through the students' pledges will be used to improve and renovate the school's main entrance and stairwell. A huge thank you to all who supported this year's Race for Education!
