Congratulations and thank you to our "Principal for a Day" Robert Stout (Grade 3)! Robert spent the day running the school with Mrs. McDowell and Mr. McCusker. Robert conducted a school-wide lockdown drill, made announcements over the public address system, checked the school's security cameras, sat-in on meetings, and ensured that the activities of the day ran smoothly. "Principal for a Day" was the grand prize in our Catholic Schools Week Carnival of Prizes raffle benefiting the Saint Lucy Day School for Children with Visual Impairments.
To wrap-up Girls Club for Grade 3, our students enjoyed a celebratory gathering with some of the special women in their lives. The girls dressed for tea and treats and spent some quality time sharing all they have experienced in this afterschool club.
To conclude their ELA unit of study on People of Perseverance in which they read The Miracle Worker, Grade 7 students were visited today by speakers from the Bucks County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
To celebrate the 100th Day of School for their students, our Kindergarten teachers - Miss A and Mrs. Donahue - spent the day dressed as 100-year-olds. What a surprise the students had this morning!
Congratulations to our students who were recognized at today's Student of the Month Luncheon. These children were celebrated for exhibiting the virtue of Friendship!
Thank you to all the Grandpals who shared part of our school day with us during our Grandpals Day celebration! Our students and their Grandpals participated in trivia competitions, played Kahoot!, had a dance party, enjoyed a game of BINGO, made crafts, and just enjoyed spending time together. Our students love having the people who are so precious and important to them visit their school, meeting their friends and teachers. We are so grateful to all of the Grandpals who took the time to make our students feel so very special!
Our Junior High Unit has been tackling some of the world's toughest problems right from their classrooms! As a culmination of their project-based learning study of world issues, our student teams - in Shark Tank style – attempted to convince a panel of guest judges why their group’s UN Sustainable Goal is the most crucial, why their plan for a solution is the most realistic, and why the “sharks” should “fund” their group with a virtual $25,000. Each student team of four is comprised of a mix of 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students who have been working together since mid-January. The top three student groups were awarded prizes. Students who displayed exceptional leadership ability or public speaking skills were also recognized. Thank you to our three guest "sharks": Mrs. Pam Lynch of the DLFF Foundation, Ms. Gina Vinch of CEC High School's Advancement and Development Office, and Mr. James King, HTS alumnus, lobbyist for the Catholic Bishops of New Jersey, and HTS parent.
As part of our after-school club and enrichment program, current Conwell-Egan Catholic High School students who are also HTS alumni return to serve as math mentors to our Grade 3 students. In this program, our graduates help with math homework, play math games, and offer enrichment activities to our students. Thank you to our Holy Trinity Alumni who have chosen to give back to their alma mater - you are so appreciated!
Another memorable Catholic Schools Week is in the books - what a week! From our Opening Mass and Open House on Sunday; to our Academic Olympics Opening Ceremonies and celebration of our community volunteers on Monday; our "Student Day" entertainment and St. Lucy Day School assembly on Tuesday; Spelling Bee, salute to our great nation, and Crayon Initiative kick-off on Wednesday; "Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day" and Eagles Pep Rally on Thursday followed by a packed-with-events Open House in the evening; to our Closing Mass, Carnival of Prizes assembly, and Family BINGO Night on Friday, the week was certainly filled with examples of how our school Learns, Serves, Leads, and Succeeds! Thank you to all who made this week possible, welcome to all the prospective families we met, and wishes for continued blessings to all the students, parents, volunteers, administrators, and staff who make Holy Trinity School a true family!
